For the theory and LQ model, please, visit the introductory page. Often α / β = 10 Gy is used for tumor and α / β = 3 Gy is used for normal tissues if better estimates are not available. EQD2 is the equivalent dose in 2 Gy fractions and BED is the biologically equivalent dose.

New number of fractions based on new dose per fraction:

Fractionation 1 (original):	α / β, Gy	Fractionation 2 (new):
Dose per fraction, Gy Number of fractions Total dose, Gy	EQD2, Gy BED, Gy	Dose per fraction, Gy Number of fractions Total dose, Gy
